On April 6th, 2013 JHS Concert Percussion Ensemble, Ensemble 442, performed for the TriState Championships and earned 1st place. They experienced an undefeated season and we named Scholastic A Class Champions at Ryle High School in Union, KY. They were also the 2011 Class A Champions.

On March 30th, 2013 JHS Winter Guard performed in the TriState Championships and won for the second year in a row. The team was named Class 3A Champions after an excellent performance at East Central HS in St. Leon, IN with the highest score of the 42 groups who performed Saturday.

On February 23rd, 2013 JHS Band members performed in the Indiana State School Music Association (ISSMA) State Solo and Ensemble Contest with much success. We had 59 students compete (several in multiple events) with overall totals of 83 Gold medals and 8 Silver medals in Division I events. If you have contact with any of these musicians, please give them a pat on the back for a job well done representing JHS and the Jeffersonville community at State Finals.

On February 9th, 2013, after the original date was cancelled due to weather, JHS Band members performed in the Indiana State School Music Association (ISSMA) District-level Solo and Ensemble Contest with much success. Our overall totals were 92 Gold medals in Division I events, 22 Silver medals in Division I events, 76 Gold medals in Division II events, and 1 Silver medal in Division II events. We have 60 Students moving on to State Finals. This is our second highest number of students to ever qualify, just shy of our 2012 record of 64 students qualifying for State Finals.

Jeffersonville High School’s band program was named a 2012 Grammy Signature School. There were only 8 schools in the country to be honored with this award out of 125 finalists from an original pool of 20,000 entrants. Mr. Rusty Reuff, an alumnus of Jeffersonville, presented the award at the concert on May 2.
