High School Directors

Adam Miller, Director of Bands

Before beginning his professional career, Mr. Adam Miller completed his Bachelors of Music and Masters in the Art of Teaching at the University of Louisville. He considers himself fortunate to have studied under teachers such as Dr. Michael Tunnell, Dr. Greg Byrne, Kimcherie Lloyd, and Dr. Fredrick Speck.

During his time as an Indiana educator, Mr. Miller has built and expanded the band programs at East Washington Community Schools (Eastern High School in Pekin), Edinburgh Community Schools, and North Harrison Community Schools. Throughout his career, Mr. Miller has been an active member in the Indiana Bandmasters Association, Indiana Music Educators Association, and Indiana State School Music Association. Mr. Miller has served the band students in the Southern Indiana area by coordinating the IBA All-Region Band at Eastern High School and the IBA All-District Band at North Harrison High School. Mr. Miller is thankful for the wonderful educators and directors he has been lucky to meet over the years. Among those that he considers his mentors are Mr. Gary Crisp, Mr. Jim Stuppy, Ms. Bonnie Harmon, and Mr. Bill Laughlin.

Jake Tabor, Associate Director of Bands

Mr. Tabor attended Western Kentucky University where he received his bachelor’s in Music Education. Mr. Tabor is an active conductor, trombonist, and guitarist.

Mr. Tabor previously taught at  South Spencer Middle and High School in Rockport, Indiana. Under his direction, the South Spencer Bands enjoyed many successes. The concert band received awards in Indiana, Missouri, and New York. The South Spencer Marching Band was a back to back competitor in the Indiana State School Music Association Marching Band State Finals. South Spencer’s jazz program was reestablished by Mr. Tabor and has been a recipient of several awards and distinguished soloists medals at the ISSMA jazz festival. At South Spencer, Mr. Tabor also taught guitar and directed the Rockport Community Band.
